    REGULAR UTILITY COMMISSION MEETING
    April 20, 2010

    Utility Commission President Mark Stanek called meeting to order at 5:35 pm.
     
    Members present: Campfield, Stanek, Krueger, and Brandt.
    Members absent: Eno. At funeral.
    Others present: Adam M. Hammatt, Bill Collins, Ron Silverthorn, and Craig Rinderer.
     
    Campfield/Krueger to approve minutes from March 16, 2010. Carried. Unanimous.
     
    No public comment.
     
    Campfield/Krueger to adjust Community Antenna's pole rental fee to $6.00 per pole from $9.00 per pole and to adjust the previous invoice. Roll Call: Carried. Unanimous.
     
    Brandt/Campfield to approve the expenditures. Roll Call: Carried. Unanimous.
     
    Discussion of sewer charge to Bob Schroeder at the home on Lake Street he in remodeling. Hammatt and Collins had decided to allow him to hook up his water meter so that he could have water for construction purposes without paying sewer charges. The commission has asked Hammatt to write something up granting a reprieve of sewer charges for 6 months if similar situation arises in the future. Commission would like to encourage contractors to take and fix up vacant homes for future use.
     
    3% rate increase in water department to take effect on June 21st, 2010.
     
    Ron Silverthorn's last commission meeting. On behalf of the City of Elroy, Hammatt thanked Silverthorn for his years of service and dedication to providing a vital service to the community. All agreed and several stories were shared about Ron.
     
    Discussion was had on updating water and electric meters. Collins had obtained some quotes for commission perusal. Also, new phosphorus requirements could be costly for the sewer utility in the future. Hammatt and Collins will keep an eye on these developments.
     
    Campfield/Krueger to convene into closed session pursuant to WI Statute 19.85(1)(c). Roll Call: Carried. Unanimous.
     
    Brandt/Krueger to convene back into open session. Roll Call: Carried. Unanimous.
     
    Brandt/Krueger to adjourn. Carried. Unanimous.
     
    Cake was available to celebrate Ron Silverthorn's retirement.
