Tourism
Elroy is a city of 1500
with three trails beginning or ending here - The Elroy-Sparta State
Trail, The 400 State Trail and The Juneau County Omaha
Trail.
Elroy offers a friendly welcome to all
bikers with a special invitation to visit the Commons - a
lovely downtown city park. Built in 1991, the Commons provides a
trail shop and information center, restrooms with shower
facilities, pay phone, parking, bike rentals, picnic area and tot
lot.
Elroy has many fine businesses to
assist you, such as restaurants, motel, bed and breakfasts, grocery
stores, banks, gift shops, an art gallery, nearby bike repair shop,
and Juneau County's only operating Movie Theatre. Other sites of
interest are the Elroy Area Historical Museum and the Elroy Library.
While in Elroy you may want to ride
across our Sesqincentennial pedestrian covered bridge. This is the only
open lattice truss town bridge in the State. The design was
patented in 1820.
The Schultz City Park on the south edge of
town has facilities for tent camping, R.V. electrical hookups, a swimming pool with
splash pad
and a playground. We hope you visit soon and make
our community a destination for many years to come.
