City of Elroy Electric Utility

The City of Elroy Electric Utility was established in 1899 and serves approximately 850 customers located within the City of Elroy, Town of Wonewoc, Town of Plymouth, and the Town of Glendale.

The electric utility is governed by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and is regulated by State and Federal agencies such as the US Department of Energy.

The electric utility is under the direction of the City Administrator and Electric Superintendent, with oversight by the Utility Commission, which consists of five members.

The City of Elroy Electric Utility is operated in the public interest, for the benefit of the residents and businesses of the City of Elroy.  Local ownership means that as much as possible of the customers energy dollar stays in the community.  On average, municipal utility rates are lower than those of other utilities.
